Whitman-Walker Health Immigration Services

Whitman-Walker Health’s attorneys are available to provide mentoring, support materials including sample briefs or filings, and general assistance with immigration cases. If you are a new volunteer, please identify your employer and whether your employer is able to provide supervision specific to the case type; please also describe your relevant legal experience or training, bar membership, and/or language skills. WWH will strive to match volunteers with appropriate cases to foster a successful representation.

DC Volunteer Lawyers Project

The DC Volunteer Lawyers Project provides direct legal and advocacy assistance to domestic violence victims, at-risk children,and other vulnerable individuals. DCVLP needs assistance representing immigrants seeking humanitarian relief (asylum, U Visa, T Visa, VAWA), domestic violence survivors seeking civil protection orders, and at-risk children as a guardian ad litem.  DCVLP offers training and mentoring for all pro bono cases. Many of the populations DCVLP serves are particularly vulnerable during the COVID pandemic.

Center Global

Center Global is a community for LGBTQ asylum seekers in the DMV area.  As an organization it strives to provide wrap-around support to its participants, including connecting participants with legal services.  Center Global needs volunteer attorneys to directly represent LGBTQ asylum seekers; to assist with drafting comments related to proposed legislation or rules that adversely affect our participants; and to assist with other legal research projects related to the community.
